Wisconsin Water Parks
To say that Wisconsin is the water park capital of the world might sound like bragging, so we’ll just say that the folks who invented the concept are the ones who do it the best! Indoor, outdoor, large, small, wild-twisting-fast slides, or gentle-relaxing-slow float streams: Wisconsin water parks are making a huge splash in the world of year round family fun.
Calypso Park, Limoges
Move over Wild Water Kingdom: last year's Calypso Park opening made the Ottawa-area attraction Canada's largest water park. It sports a 52,000-square-foot wave pool — one of the largest in North America — along with 35 waterslides. And Calypso is getting even bigger this year with the addition of the 28-metre tall "Summit Tower," the tallest free-standing waterslide tower in North America. Ten new slides jut out from the tower, including the roller-coaster-like "Aqualoops" and high-speed "Accelerators."
Water World in Denver, Colorado
A water park and theme park rolled into one, fun-filled experience, Water World offers its guests the chance to take in some thrills before cooling off in the water. Water World is home to two of the most unique water rides ever created. Zoomerang, a four story slide that takes you around neck-bending twists and turns is a fun way for the adults in your group to get in some cheap thrills.
After experiencing the Zoomerang, try a wet and wild ride on The Lost River of the Pharaohs. The Lost River will take you on a whitewater adventure through a mysterious land full of cobras and mummies. For a relaxing end to your day at the water park, try the Big Top Family Fun Zone where you can let your kids burn energy by running around while you soak up the sun.
King’s Island is one of the most visited theme parks in the
US, with more than 3 million visitors per year. The park is especially known
for its family-friendly attractions, such as Snoopy Island. Tickets to the main
park also include admission to the nearby water park, Boomerang Bay.
Atlantis Paradise Island
The five towers that comprise the Atlantis Paradise Island – Coral, Beach, Cove and Reef – collectively present all of the luxurious accommodations you need to have the destination wedding or romantic getaway of your lifetime. This stunning Bahamas resort's plethora of water and land-themed activities, and its never-ending list of upscale amenities, make it a clear choice for couples seeking the best in exotic resort vacations.
Brandenburg, Germany
When one thinks "water park," Germany doesn't usually come to mind. That's alright; Germany has produced a respectable water park in their Tropical Islands resort. Sure, they've got slides, but they've also got tropical pools, beaches and a rain forest. The dome -- one of the largest buildings in the world by volume -- houses the action. As far as water parks go, Tropical Islands is a unique experience right in the heart of Bavaria.
